This is not a galvanised metal bucket of today, this particular one is heavy and has no rust. The red paint has mostly peeled off with only small traces of the once red paint. Old fire buckets were an essential firefighting tool used in the past to contain and control fires before the advent of modern firefighting equipment and techniques. Cylindrical shape with a handle attached to the top. They were usually painted red or another bright color for easy identification during emergencies.
