Handcrafted vintage colonial wooden statue originating from Western Africa. Lightweight wood. Uniformly lanky and lean, featuring a dramatic and modern silhouette. Most of these colonial statues were made by the Baule tribe of Ivory Coast, a former French colony and are an enduring reflection of the complex relationships between the colonised and the colonisers. This statue has some wear and tear like scuff marks and paint loss here and there.
