This is a rare find! An original Friesian Dutch Schippertjie (means little skipper) wall clock by Warmink. The three figurines on top of the clock are fully made of solid heavy brass.The pillars on the side also have brass finishes. The Warmink clock has an 8-day movement and chimes on the half and full hour. The clock is missing its pendulum, apart from this, it’s in very good shape. It’s weight driven by two heavy brass weights. Circa 19th century. Friesian sailors had these types of clocks on their boats because they were able to function well on the sea with rocking boats. Later on, they became more popular in Dutch households.
