This is an original oil painting (reproduction) signed by an attributed artist “Gavson”, but it’s not the original artist of this series “Dogs Playing Poker” which was originally by Cassius Marcellus Coolidge. in 1903 the original paintings were commissioned by Brown & Bigelow to advertise cigars, featuring comical, humanized dogs playing poker, chess and other games around a table. This is a good reproduction. Please note, it may seem the painting has a tear, but it’s the smoke of the cigar. The painting has no damage and the frame is in good vintage condition.
