This is a large framed portrait (with original photo) of William Philip Schreiner, Prime Minister of the Cape Colony at the start of the South African war forming part of the British 1820’s settlers to South Africa. All information is available on the reverse side of the frame. This is an amazing piece for the study or office space. A wax seal in the right corner authenticates the portrait.
William Philip Schreiner (1857 – 1919) was a anti-British imperialist, and a proponent for the integration of all “civilised men” including “civilsed Africans”. Appointed attorney General by Cecil John Rhodes and joined parliament as a representative of Kimberley.
