Cornelis Brandenburg was a Dutch painter, draftsman, and etcher, primarily known for his cityscapes and landscapes. He worked in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, a period in which Dutch art was influenced by Romanticism and a renewed interest in capturing everyday life. This piece of art is one of Brandenburg’s most famous works. It depicts a view of the Oudeschans, a canal in Amsterdam. The art is old, and visibly aged. Please take a close look at the pictures. There is a chip or two in the frame. Most definitely a valuable piece from a bygone era.
