Antique African Colonial Walking Stick

This is a very special walking stick, in the shape of an African colonial man, hand carved. The tip of the walking stick is the colonial man’s boot. Originates from Cote d’Ivoire 20th century, or possibly earlier. The era of African colonial figures refers to the period during which European powers established colonial rule over various parts of Africa. This era spanned the late 19th century to the mid-20th century. The Scramble for Africa, which took place in the late 19th century, saw European powers, such as Britain, France, Germany, Belgium, Portugal, and others, competing for control and dominance in different regions of Africa. The boot has a chip in the wood – see photos – but overall good condition apart from general age related wear.
