Circa 1980’s (could possibly be earlier), is an Oldham mining lamp with a battery. They were first invented in the early 1900s, however they were not practical as the battery was too large. In the 1940s, with the introduction of a more practical light-weight model, they became standard. It still has quite a weight, hence we believe this could be from an earlier century. Overall the piece appears to be in good shape.
